Mari Mari Tengok TV
It has been raining in the morning for the past few mornings. No complaints about that; waking up to a rainy morning is refreshing and just makes me wish I could just stay in bed all day! And I did
So far, have not been up to much stuff. Downloading enrolment forms, getting my result slips and photocopying it, tidying up my room to get rid of all the junk for the new semester ahead, making schedules and plans for the next time round.
Kuching Fest is on this week, I hear. Food food food!
Oh, and does anyone have any suggestions of what series to watch? All suggestions are welcomed, TQ

How to Buy Cheap College Textbooks (WikiHow.com)
Register for classes as early as possible. Start researching courses as soon as you can, and solidify your schedule early. If you have to change classes at the last minute, it’ll be hard to escape high textbook prices.
Find out what books you’ll need for your classes. Go to the bookstore just to browse. Leave the wallet at home, but bring a pen and paper. Look for your classes and the new semester's required books. Ask the bookstore employees to assist you if needed. If your classes' book requirements are not in yet, inquire as to when they will be and come back on that date. You may also be able to get this information off the bookstore’s website or your classes’ web pages.
Write down the following information for each book:
the name and volume/edition of the book
- the name of the author
- the book’s International Standard Book Number (ISBN), found on or near the barcode on the back of book
- the price
Try to find the books in the library. Check the catalogs of your school library and the local public library. If you can’t find a book there, try to obtain the book via interlibrary loan. Depending on the library’s borrowing policies, you may be able to check out books for the whole semester or at least for as long as you’ll need them. You’ll want to get on this early, though, because supplies will be limited.
Search for books on the Internet. If you can’t get a book at the library, or if you’ll need to be able to keep a book or write in it, look for better prices online. Usually all you’ll need is the book’s ISBN. In the search box of your favorite search engine, enter only the ISBN number, without the dashes that separate the digits. You should come up with several exact matches; in the unlikely event that you don’t, try searching by title. Verify you have the correct book using the other information you wrote down.
Buy bundles. Bundled books save you money by allowing you to buy your books in one shrinkwrapped package, often at a discount.
Shop around online. Most likely just about any price you find online will be cheaper than the bookstore, but check as many sites as possible to find the cheapest possible book. Check out online auction marketplaces. While you won’t be able to find as many books at auctions, you may be able to find screaming deals.
Check out local bookstores. You may be able to find a good deal locally, especially once you factor in shipping charges. Even if you can’t quite match an online price locally, you’ll be able to see the book before you purchase and you’ll get the satisfaction of helping local merchants.
Consider used books. Used books are almost always cheaper than new ones, and if you can find a used version online in good condition it may be a good bet. You may also be able to get used books at your campus bookstore, especially if you shop early or pre-order. Compare prices to find the best deal. Also used books may have the previous students notes in them which is a plus because you won't have to make them.
Inquire about earlier editions. If the current edition's used price is still too much, use the book name to find an earlier edition: enter the book title in the search box and remove any references to what edition it is. Before buying, ask your professor or TA if the earlier edition is acceptable. It is often not acceptable because of changes to editions and page numbers, not to mention content, and you don’t want to have to pay for a book twice.
Scour your campus. Some colleges have student groups that sell used textbooks for older students or that otherwise facilitate buying and selling of books. Ask your friends, look at flyers around campus, and watch the student paper for deals.
Resell your books. If you don’t foresee that you’ll need a book after the semester ends, try to resell it as soon as possible. Find out what your campus bookstore and local booksellers will pay, and consider putting up flyers around campus and/or selling it online. If your book is in high demand, you may be able to sell a book online within a day, and at a much higher price than you’ll get at the bookstore. See the Related wikiHows below for more information on how to do this.

Post-Exam-Result Status...
Haha! I tend to type 're-slut' instead of result! What are the odds?XD
SO we got our results last night. I don't honestly know how I am feeling right now. I was so happy I passed all 4 subjects. Many people commented that I was 'lucky' to have scraped through FIs when the passing rate this time round was really low. But I also feel bad for my best friends who didn't pass all their subjects. So I really dunno what to do about myself now.
Looking back, I think I really slacked off this semester this time. I skipped many tutorial classes thinking that I can make up for the lost time with some self-studying when the truth is, I shouldn't have. I suffered from the family curse: Overconfidence. Thinking I was better than the exams made me cocky and lose my sense of regards for my education, which led to a series of scrape-throughs and near-fails.
I really hit the all-time low this time. Lots of students at least failed one subject, and I should be thankful that I passed all of mine, but when I found out that a close friend (she was co-project manager with me in one subject) got three Distinctions and one High Distinction, I knew it. I knew that I sucked. I know deep down I have the potential to do better but because of my bad habits and distractions, I failed myself. I KNOW i could have done BETTER but I didn't!
I promised myself this sem: No more letting myself enjoy too much life throughout this semester. No more follies and going-outs and unnecessary trips here and there. I need to buck up! No more shows, no more computer games. FOCUS on the end goal: Getting all Distinctions. I know I can do it!

Starbucks
Went to Starbucks the other day with Wei Khee, Choulyin and Lilian. The atmosphere was okay, odd thing being the green umbrellas when it was obviously unnecessary. The coffee was a bit low-grade as well; the froth was made from big bubbles (at least, they seemed bigger than normal, since Choulyin is working at Bing's and can tell the difference) The price is similar to that of Coffee Bean's, so don't be prejudice and check it out! Another store's gonna open at Spring's this year end, so I'll learn to love em.
Results?
I'm now waiting for my results on Blackboard. Worried about Financial Info Systems. The other 3 subjects, not so worried about, cuz I felt I did my best and that was good enough. Not so for FIS. People said results will be out by 5:30pm but its still not out yet! And I checked the Yahoo Astrology just now and guess what:

Of House Chores and House Elves
Been up to my neck doing house chores and decorating my place. Since my Indon maid left this year, the duty to clean up the house was never properly defined. So in my free time have been slowly ckeaning up the muck and picking up the pace to spruce the place (lol, that rhymed XD)
Harry POtter is OUT! Two main things to find out: Is Snape good or bad? And between Harry and Voldemort, what happened in their case?
Am in line to borrow Shariman's copy of the book. Lets see who did what when why!
Cheers!

Heroes
I finished my marathon on Heroes!!!
Believe me, it was worth it. This series is outstanding in every aspect possible: The possibilities, suspense, horror and comedy.
Basically the season finale left us at the square where Peter Petrelli was supposed to blow up and destroy half of New York. All the other heroes just happened to be around that area, all of them gathering for the first time. Nathan Petrelli won the election but by illegal means (Micah was used to 'talk' to the voting comoputers to give Nathan a landslide victory. ) But in the end, he came to save New York by bringing Peter up to the skies to explode there (Nathan had the ability to fly.)
The finale was disappointing in the sense that it was different from the vision Peter had in the middle of the season. He was in the middle of the road, cars abandoned, with people running away from him. In the finale, they were in that city square in front of 'the company', with the dual spiral reddish staircase fountain. Simone was in his vision, but by the finale, she was already dead. All these discrepancies!
There are many possibilities: Nathan could be dead, or Nathan could have flown Peter halfway up, released him and escaped the worst of the explosion (but he'd still suffer damages from carrying Peter - remember, Peter was radioactive) Or, Sylar killed Candice, ate her brains and used her powers to make himself look like Nathan - and becoming the new Presidnet of the United States. (ruling the world, like in Hiro's trip to the future)
And I believe that there is more about the elderly group of people than meets the eye. My theory? Mama Petrelli, Papa Petrelli (deceased), Linderman (power to heal, deceased), Hiro's father and Charles (Simone's father, whom Peter was taking care of in the first few episodes) were part of the first Heroes. They fought hard to protect the world with their powers, but one of them backstabbed the group and used his/her powers to gain wealth and power. Linderman was that person, in my opinion. I also think that CHarles had the power to bring people into their dreams, as that would explain how Peter could feel himself flyin his dreams, and in the finale, how he could meet CHarles in a drean even though Charles was already dead. (And Peter, beign the 'absorbent sponge' that he was, abrsorbed Charles' power)
More proof? Well, in one scene when Claire went to look for Peter, she instead met her grandmother, who claimed that 'we gave you up to another family to take care of you.' But in another scene, it showed a flashback where Hiro's father gave Claire to Ted Bennet (with little Hiro playing trucks in a corner, aww!) So that means there was a connection between Hiro's father and Mama Petrelli. And Mama Petrelli was also in contact with Charles. And Linderman. All proof of my theory about the older generation of heroes.
Season 2 is titled "Generations". Maybe we'll get to see more history about the parents involved. Wouldn't it be interesting to find out what powers Mama Petrelli has? Or Hiro's father for that matter? And whatever happened to Hiro??!! The opening teaser for Season 2 showed Hiro being thrown back into the past, when an eclipse occured during a battle between Kensei (Hiro's ancestor) and his enemies. Aarggh!?!?!!
I also think that Claire, Micah and Molly ( the tracking system, lol) will play an integral part in the next season. THey are the third generation spawn of heroes, and Mohinder Suresh can use them to study how they got their powers from parents who are both heroes (Claire's mom Meridith Gordon can control fire and father's Nathan Petrelli, flying-man!) (Micha's parents are Niki Sanders, who actually has super strength but got confused eversince she has multiple personality disorder, and father is DL who can walk through walls which is why "No jail can hold him" XD) (Molly's parents are of unknown parentage because Sylar killed them quite early into the season, but as their brains were left untouched, I'm guessing maybe they don't have any powers)
Will Matt Parkman (telekinesis guy) be alive after Sylar reversed his shots to kill him off instead?? WIll DL be alive after Linderman shot him? Can Linderman heal himself with his own powers after what DL did to him? Is Sylar still ALIVE???
Season 2 better come out fast! Right now, I'll fix my tv cravings with Season 10 of South Park and Smallville's Season 5. Cheers!
